2nd: The Borrowers, Theatre by the Lake
Do you love going to theatre or even love up-cycling? Then we would say the borrowers is the perfect theatre production to watch here in the Lake District! After all they were the original up-cyclers, and you may even get some innovative ideas! Located at the Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, just 13 miles from our beautiful holiday cottage, Heron Beck. 2nd: North Lakes new year half marathon and 10k
New year, new you? Or your simply just a running machine – the half marathon is a wonderful way to ease back into it. But do not worry, our lovely free-standing bathtub at Heron Beck will be ready and waiting to help rest your muscles! (Maybe even with a lovely cuppa to warm you up!) Starting at 10am, the running event caters for all runners, and even better, all contenders receive a hot roll, hot drink, medal and chip timed results!

Music fans, we have you covered! The Sands Centre in Carlisle is hosting Dr Hook starring Dennis Locorriere on the 20th of January 2023. 27th: Jamie Fox – Life at the limit
For the first time, Jamie Fox – the well known ex-special forces soldier who stars in SAS: Who Dares Wins is taking to the stage to finally tell us his story of his career as an elite operate in the UK Special Forces (SBS). With lots to learn about him, both from his career and personal life – head to The Sands Centre in Carlisle, our lovely Heron Beck 8 birth cottage is still available for these dates so be sure to book now! 4th Keswick Market
Keswick Market is the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, still a little chilly so wrap up warm and head out to explore and support the stores and small businesses we have around the Lake District! From cheese to coats, there is lots there for everyone! Make a day of it by wondering down to the lake and maybe stopping off for a spot of lunch of a coffee. After a full day of it in the wintry weather, get in front of the open fire we have at Heron Beck to warm up and maybe enjoy a treat or two you may have bought at the market! Just head down to Keswick town centre to find out more for yourself!
18th The Banff Mountain Film Festival
The Lakes are known for the beautiful landscape and picturesque mountains, so it’s not surprise that The Banff Mountain Film Festival is heading over to The Theatre on the Lake. 23rd Bouncefest
Here’s one for the children who need to bounce again their energy, BOUNCEFEST! Just in Kirby Lonsdale, spend the day bouncing away at the trampoline park – with lots to do and areas for all ages! 19th Mother’s Day Getaway!

9th Easter Break!
Wouldn’t a break for Easter just be perfect? Imagine – a lovely wonder around the lake with a few stops into the shops, maybe even picking up some treats for the day! Then to head back for a feast for all on our lovely dining table to slump on the sofa and find something lovely to watch with a glass of bubbly – Heron Beck is the place to be! A lover for poetry? This is your dream! Verbalise is an open mic night, both live and over zoom where you can take part or spend the night listening to others share monologues, poems and their favourite literature. Heron Beck, just miles away from Kendal is the perfect place to stay whilst you attend Verbalise! The night hosted by Ann Grant, a writer with MS that lives in Kendal.
