1st: Burden of Paradise Concert

 5th and 12th: Pottery and Raku Firing

Raku firing has to be the most daring way to fire pottery. This process helps to create special signs and patterns on your piece. Raku is Japanese and loosely means ‘happiness in the unexpected’ – happiness in the unexpected can also be found within the walls of Heron Beck, with the heart of the Lakes right beneath your feet, whether you are enjoying your first break in the Lakes, or you are a regular visitor, happiness is always found in the Lake District. 10th: Outdoor Opera

After a morning cuppa watching the world go by through our telescope, why not head to the Battlebarrow House Gardens for an afternoon of Shakespeare, Arthur Ransome, and Opera highlights!  29th July – 7th August: Lake District Summer Music Festival

 Summer = Music!

Spend the week singing and dancing the days away! 18th August: Beatrix Potter Full-Day All-Inclusive Tour from Grasmere

27th August: The Patterdale Dog Day

Calling all dog lovers! Spend the day watching dogs of all breeds showing off their skills. This show is focused on an open sheepdog trials competition. Alongside the dog trails, there are many other attractions and shows to keep all entertained – how could anyone get bored when in Ullswater! 29th: Keswick Agricultural Show

Town Meets Country! Keswick is known to be the hotspot for tourists, especially in summer with the breath-taking Derwent Water! However, that does not stop one of the oldest shows from going ahead. The Agricultural Show is a full day of entertaining the family including the showing of Classes of Ponies, Horses, Sheep, and Dogs. Make sure to head over and check it out keswickshow.co.uk/. Keswick is only 20 mins from our rental cottage, where a bus route is on your doorstep… quite literally.

Date TBC: The Lake District Protection Society Food Festival

Are you a real foodie? Head over to Grasmere and explore the world of food at the LDPS Food Festival. Not only do you get to enjoy the foods available, but you do not have to feel guilty indulging as it is all for Charity! Do I need to say much more? After you have entered the ultimate food coma, head over to Heron Beck for that much-needed after food nap on the sofa by our lovely log-burning stove. 11th: Winton Park Gardens

Winton Park Gardens began in 1990 and it is currently five acres of gardens yet forever evolving. The gardens are open, over the Spring and Summer on selected days with lots to offer; the mountain views and marvellous plants are not something to be missed!
